Our wedding food secrets: how to make sure your guests are well-fed, so you can relax and enjoy every moment of your magical day. Whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian, gluten-free or vegan, we have exciting wedding food options for you and your guests.
One of the most important and expensive elements of your day is catering, and can make a big difference to your wedding reception. Everyone looks forward to the meal at a wedding. Your guests have had a long day preparing for and travelling to witness your celebration. And it will be the first chance for you as newlyweds, and your friends and families to get to know one another as they eat a delicious wedding breakfast together.
When you book your wedding at Frensham Hall, our in-house team of experts will help and guide you through the catering process. With outstanding reviews for food, our menus have been carefully curated and crafted by our experienced onsite caterers, Holroyd Howe. From your first visit, our talented Head Chef, Chris and his team of 6 will work with you to create an exceptional menu and catering experience to suit your tastes and dietary requirements.
As with all aspects of your wedding at Frensham Hall, we are a blank canvas waiting to bring your dream day to reality. With the flexibility and knowledge of a team of experienced staff, any theme or cuisine can be catered for. From full formal wedding breakfasts to evening street food or barbecues, all lovingly prepared in our Hall kitchens. There is also a fantastic selection of hot and cold canapés that taste as amazing as they look! Our Mini Open Beef Burger, served with Bacon, Pickles, Tomato and Mozzarella being a firm favourite with guests.
So how do you pick the perfect food for your dream wedding?
Make it Personal
It may seem obvious, but when planning any aspect of your wedding, sticking to your gut feeling is of unparalleled importance. Your wedding day should be a celebration of you both as a couple, and experience has shown us that sticking to the foods you love to eat together or a dish that holds special memories is always a winner!
Serving style
The food you love will often dictate the serving style. There are several ways you can choose to serve your food: plated meals, buffet, bbq, serving stations or heavy appetisers by waiting staff. When selecting a style, think about how it will work within the venue as well as the formality of your event. Our team would work with you to determine which of the styles will work best for you and decide which of these will also fit into your budget.
It is becoming increasingly popular, for couples to add more interactive elements to their day which allow guests to make their way around the room/garden and choose for themselves what you have planned for them. One of our favourites is a Dessert Station - with a variety of scrumptious desserts on display.
Don't over complicate it!
In the same way, simplicity is key. The wedding breakfast can feel like a massive piece of planning – yes, there are lots of things to think about, from table decorations and centrepieces to favours, the table plan and place cards – so break it down into manageable chunks and let us do the rest!
Tasting Events
Be inspired at one of our complimentary Tasting Events and choose your menu. We would highly recommend you do this and it's a really enjoyable part of the process. It's a chance for you to meet our Head Chef, talk with our catering team and sample our expertly-prepared dishes as they will be prepared exactly as on the day.
Seasonal options
All our food is prepared onsite using the freshest, best-quality produce and all sourced from trusted local suppliers. Wedding dishes tend to change from season-to-season, using seasonal ingredients when they are at their best. Consider the time of year you are getting married. While heartier meals are usually served at an autumn or winter wedding we would recommend salads and lighter types of food for a mid-summer wedding. And of course, we adapt our menus to cater for all dietary requirements.
We hope these tips have given you some guidance on how to select the perfect wedding menu. If you'd like to find out further information, please get in touch with Kerry, our Events Manager on 01252 797435 or email enquiries@frenshamhall.co.uk
